E.T. fans and quilters, rejoice! Lily's Quilts offers a delightful tutorial for creating a 12-inch "E.T. Phone Home" quilt block using foundation paper piecing. Eight downloadable templates are provided; ensure they're printed at actual size (adjustments may be needed for US Letter paper—use Adobe Reader's scaling feature). Most templates require a 1/4" seam allowance, while the outer perimeter needs a 1/2" for ease. Assembly involves piecing four template sections, carefully pairing and pinning them, matching triangle points, and sewing from the center outwards for precision. Press seams open for a neat center. Join the two halves by pinning center points, sewing halfway, flipping, and completing the seam. Find the full tutorial and downloadable templates at Lily's Quilts. Happy quilting!
